Garett Barr is an educator and musician in the Ottawa area. He performs frequently with the Mackenzie Rhythm Section and Gatineau Steamers, playing R&B, rock, folk and country.

Garett graduated from Nipissing University with a Bachelor of Primary & Junior Education, and has since been mentored in vocal and instrumental instruction by music specialist Shelley Smith. He's always looking for new ways to simplify music theory and performance, so you can be sure that his ukulele program will get you strumming and picking in the way that makes most sense to you.

As his main instrument, Garett has been performing on bass guitar since 2003. As a bassist, he has performed at festivals and university events across Ontario and Quebec, on three professional albums, and even earned a substantial Ontario Arts Council grant. From technique to performance, Garett can help students to learn why the bass is one of the most important instruments in popular music. 

Garett has created a bass instruction book AMS happily endorses for students to use for an excellent start.
