New - group programs for Violin:

1) for young students interested in starting violin,

2) for violinists that have been playing for a year  an opportunity to play in an ensemble setting.

These programs will take place the last week of August in order to help prepare for the new school year.

New - Ukulele summer camp! This will be a week long musical day camp beginning July 15, full of ukulele, singing, percussion, games and fun! For ages 9 thru 15.

SUMMER CAMP 2012

A week full of the amazing Beatles’ music! We’ll sing, we’ll dance, we’ll play and we’ll create art!
Enjoy the air conditioned teaching studios, our band room and the GigSpace performance studio. Professional, experienced music instructors and recreation coach will help you enjoy each activity. Everyone will participate in Choir, Stomp, Art projects, and recreation. Plus you can choose Singing or Band or Dance for focussed inspiration. You must already play an instrument for band. 

Each day will be filled with Beatles-related creative activities. We will walk to nearby parks for fun outdoor activities. You will receive a custom music camp  t-shirt! Friday afternoon we top it off with a performance featuring the Beatles Choir, the Beatles Stomp Group, the Beatles Band, Dancers and Singers!

Camp Schedule:
Mornings include group activities: warm-ups, choir, stomp, snack break, specialized group instruction for choice of Singing, Band or Dance.
Lunch break
Afternoons include group activities: choir, stomp, art projects, outdoor recreation, snack break, specialized group instruction. In the case of inclement weather, recreation will be indoors. Friday afternoon performance for parents & friends.

Ages: 10 to 16
Registration Fee: $350
Time: 9:00 am - 4:30 pm  (early drop off and later pick up times available upon request, add $30)
Camp Dates: Choose July or August or both!  July 9th -13th & August 13th -17th, 2012
Location: Alcorn Music Studios, 953 Gladstone Avenue, Ottawa, cross street is Loretta one block west of Preston (Little Italy)
Camp Coaches: Allison Jackson: Singing, Choir & Art. Allison is a professional vocalist and vocal coach. She has her Masters degree in Music along with years of experience working with vocalists through private lessons, choirs and day camps. She teaches singing, harmony, voice projection and musical theatre to enthusiastic students of all ages.

,Zoe Alcorn: Stomp, Dance, Recreation & Art. Zoe has her Level II Coaching certificate in multi-disciplinary sports. She coaches competitive and recreational gymnastics, creates choreographed dance routines, oversees the recreational gymnastics program, manages and directs the Gloucester Community Gymnastic Club summer camps.

 Fred Carriere: Band. Fred is nearing completion of his University degree in Music and Psychology. Fred is a professional musician and teaches guitar and voice.  Fred is experienced teaching students of all ages and enjoys coaching bands in how to play together, listen to one another, and gain confidence as a group.

Director: Marilee Townsend-Alcorn. Marilee is the artistic director for Alcorn Music Studios and the GigSpace Performance Studio. She is a professional musician and graphic designer.  Marilee will be assisting the teachers and students in all activities throughout the day ensuring everyone is learning, growing as a group, and having a fabulous time.
What to Bring?
A bottle of water, Lunch, 2 snacks. No nuts please!
A hat, sunscreen, socks and sneakers for outside and change of clothes for water game days. For indoors please wear comfortable clothes and indoor footwear.
A great attitude and willingness to try new things!
